Steven Ball occupies a rather unique place in the organ world.  Although he began accompanying church services at age 9, he discovered theatre organ at Roaring Twenties Pizza in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Since then he has studied organ in Europe and the US and has earned his doctorate in organ performance.  Dr. Ball is senior staff organist at Michigan Theatre in Ann Arbor, where he appears weekly when not on the road performing silent films, concerts, or teaching workshops.  He now teaches in the organ department of U of M.  He has been appointed Cathedral Organist at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Detroit.
